Silver Lining!

So on my way to the Mall earlier today for Black Friday shopping, I see this beautiful scene. Immediately I am reminded of God and His beautiful creation but unfortunately, I don't carry a Camera around with me usually.
Luckily, my cellphone came to the rescue.

Picture quality sucks and it took quite a bit of photoshopping to sharpen it a bit and get rid off the overhead wires and street lights. I still like it though and it's rare to see this kind of scene amidst the LA Smog and the Urban Congestion.
I thank God for providing such opportunities to capture and appreciate His creation and I am glad I was able to seize this opportunity.

Thanksgiving!

More often than not I find myself constantly asking for more.
It's not a bad thing but a lot of times my prayers consist of a lot of " God, Please.." or "God would you..." or even "God if it be in your will....."; and Yes while it does show dependence and submission, I often think about how unsatisfied I am.

How often do I simply come before God just recognizing all that He has done and giving Him thanks for it. Giving Him thanks for the BIG things like my salvation and my family as well as the taken for granted things like Food, Air, Shelter is something I want to do more of.
I want to spend time in reflection of the things He has has done to me, for me and through me. Without realizing it, we all have so much to be thankful for and we should glorify God by giving Him due credit and honor for everything He has done.

This is something that has been a prayer lately, is to just have a thankful heart that is satisfied in God.

That is my challenge, to seize every opportunity to give thanks and recognize the obvious and subtle ways in which He shows me Grace!

Ephesians 5:20 "giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ"

Finally!

I have never been much of a writer, which is a little surprising since I've usually done pretty well in everything I've ever written.
Lately, I've been finding that, by the grace of God I am learning a lot and I have a desire to share. In addition my memory often fails me so I hope to use this to keep records.

Carpe Vitam - Seize Life!

While pondering what to name my Blog (Thank You Denise for the Inspiration & Support), I decided to use a Latin phrase. Unfortunately, I never took any form of Latin, but Latin being the language of the Romans and the base for most Western language has always intrigued me.

The phrase Carpe Vitam to me doesn't necessarily mean to make the most of life from the world's perspective, rather, I want to fully embrace the life that God has blessed me with and I want to take hold of it and live it to the maximum for His Glory. We have been given Eternal Life and are called to take a hold of it (1 Timothy 6:12).

Since I'm starting this blog during the week of Thanksgiving, I also want to spend some time each post to recognize the things that God has been doing and to give thanks for them!

LET US SEIZE THIS LIFE TODAY AND LIVE IT FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
